{"id":64798,"date":"2022-09-20T11:41:44","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T09:41:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediafocus.ch\/?p=64798"},"modified":"2024-10-08T12:44:36","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T12:44:36","slug":"gross-advertising-pressure-experiences-an-uptick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/werbekompass.ch\/en\/gross-advertising-pressure-experiences-an-uptick\/","title":{"rendered":"Gross advertising pressure experiences an uptick"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Highlights in August<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"710\" height=\"482\" src=\"https:\/\/mediafocus.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Titelbild-EN-2022.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7517\" srcset=\"https:\/\/werbekompass.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Titelbild-EN-2022.png 710w, https:\/\/werbekompass.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Titelbild-EN-2022-300x204.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 710px) 100vw, 710px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At a gross value of CHF 438.6 million, the advertising month of August has closed out 14 percent above the previous year\u2019s figure.<br>Gross advertising pressure has thereby increased by 4.4 percent compared to the previous month, July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 15 sectors recorded a double-digit increase in their advertising pressure, helping gross advertising pressure in August to gradually recover from the summer slump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2022, total gross advertising pressure amounted to CHF 3,990 million, up 34 percent on 2021. <sub><\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:25px\"><br><br><strong>Advertising Pressure in the market as a whole<\/strong><br>Development of Advertising Pressure as per August 2022 in million francs (gross)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mediafocus.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/19_09_22_EN_Gesamtmarkt-1024x886.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24281\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mediafocus.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/19_09_22_EN_Gesamtmarkt_Tabelle-1024x479.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24284\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:25px\"><br><br><strong>Telecommunications picks up again after its July low<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sixteen out of twenty-one sectors saw higher advertising pressure in August than in the same month in the previous year, with the <strong>tobacco sector<\/strong> experiencing the biggest rise (+137.9%).&nbsp; <strong>Construction, industry and furnishings<\/strong> (+48%) saw the second-highest percentage increase and thereby maintained its second place in the overall annual ranking, behind <strong>retail<\/strong>, which also saw an above-average increase in August (26.5%). As in the previous month, <strong>leisure, gastronomy and tourism<\/strong> took third place, with the sector\u2019s advertising pressure increasing by 17.8 percent in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>telecommunications<\/strong> sector was able to increase its advertising pressure by 13 percent compared to August last year. In comparison with the previous weak month of July, performance was a full 49 percent higher, the second-highest percentage increase compared to the previous month after <strong>tobacco products<\/strong> (145%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong><strong>Five sectors with lower advertising pressure compared to last year <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Five sectors have seen less advertising pressure compared to August last year.
