This represents a decline of 13.4 percent compared to the previous year.&nbsp; There has also been a decline of 5.6 percent YTD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, compared to the previous month, August recorded a significant increase of 17.5 percent following the usual summer slump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>tobacco sector<\/strong> posted the most significant increase, with a rise of 40.1 percent in advertising pressure. At the same time, the largest reduction was observed in the <strong>energy sector<\/strong>, with a decline of 65.6 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Advertising pressure in the market as a whole<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advertising pressure development up to September 2023 in CHF million gross<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mediafocus.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/EN-WMT-September-2023-Gesamtmarkt.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-78514\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mediafocus.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/EN-WMT-September-2023-Gesamtmarkt-Tabelle.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-78517\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Tobacco sector with the biggest increase<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In September, the<strong> tobacco sector<\/strong> recorded a strikingly strong increase in advertising pressure of 40.1 percent compared to the previous year, meaning that it topped the list of industries with the strongest rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>cosmetics and toiletries<\/strong> sector is also noteworthy as it achieved an increase of 18.4 percent in advertising pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>cleaning sector<\/strong> achieved the third-highest increase with a substantial rise of 7.8 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Further reductions in the energy sector<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The largest reductions were observed in the <strong>energy sector<\/strong>, <strong>personal care<\/strong> and <strong>services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>energy sector<\/strong> recorded a drastic decline of 55.0 percent in August and it is 65.6 percent behind 2022 in September.
